If they have the same size armies on a terrain foreign to both armies who ya got? Personally, I'd go with Alexander no matter what as I believe he is the most gifted military mind to ever live.

bro, do you even Attila the Hun?

Alexander Army would be better armored. But I remember ghenghis archers on horseback were deadly accurate. I wonder what the Vegas line would be.

Depends on the terrain. Genghis wins on an open plain, Alexander in mountainous territory. Ghengis has major technological improvements on his side like the trebuchet, compound bow, and stirrup. Genghis wins 99/100.

He would've got shite on by Alexander as well. The guy conquered lands from Greece to India in 8 years.

Khan w/ horses and compound bows would destroy them. He was around 1500 years after Alex and destroyed everyone at that time.
It's like high school vs NFL.

It's impossible to say because terrain would be vital to the outcome.
Open field and Alexander's phalanx hammer and anvil tactic would be decimated by the mobile Mongolian hordes. They'd beat Alex's calvary and pepper the plalanx with arrows from a safe distance.
Alexander would obviously look to play the mountain pass game and get the Mongols attacking into a confined space. Forests would also work but not as ideal for remaining organized.

I'm going with the bad assess on the horses. Alexander may have been the better leader but those Mongolian horsemen were an unstoppable machine.

You people are highly underestimating Alexander's mind. He was a genius outside of warfare. Imagine if Tom Brady or lebron was considered one of the smartest people in the world

You do realize a large part of Alexander's army was cavalry as Well? He led his cavalry into battle personally and defeated Persian light cavalry, chariots, horse archers and Indian war elephants. I don't believe the fight would be as lopsided as you people seem to believe

If it's any sort of open land the Mongols win hands down. Their feigned flight would absolutely decimate the heavily armored Hypaspist as they get worn the frick out chasing after the feigned flight just to be counter attacked from the side/rear. Also the heavy cav that the Macedonians used would have done zero to nothing to the much lighter and quicker Mongol cav due once again to their armor weighing them down.
If it's an easily defensible spot where the rear and flanks are covered and the Greeks stand their ground then it becomes more even.

Light cav is the answer to heavy cav. You realize this right? Heavy horse was used against infantry as a means of punching a hole. Not as an anti horse unit.
Heavy horse would simply tire chasing after the light horse and become a human pincushion in the process.
Sheesh. Learn your foot/horse tactics bro.

Alexander was a great leader
Genghis was good at consolidating power.
Alexander had no real plan to keep power. Though his General Ptolemy set up a nearly 300 year dynasty in Egypt only ending when Cleopatra chose the wrong successor to Caesar.
