Orignal Story:

A search is underway in north Alabama after a man charged with capital murder and a deputy transporting him to court went missing Friday morning.

Lauderdale County Sheriff's Office employee Vicki White, who is the assistant director of corrections, and inmate Casey Cole White have not been seen since 9:30 a.m. Friday when they left for a court appearance. The sheriff's office said the deputy and suspect are not related.

The marked vehicle that the two left the detention center in was located in the parking lot of a shopping center in Florence around 11 a.m. Friday. Their direction of travel is unknown.

UPDATE: According to unconfirmed reports from a small-time media outlet in north Alabama, the deputy did allegedly help facilitate the escape:

It appears, according to reports, the deputy did help facilitate the escape. She supposedly turned in her retirement papers on Thursday and had recently liquidated some of her assets.

Unfortunately, this info comes from a Facebook post by a small-time media outlet, so take it for what it’s worth. We will see if it is accurate.

One of them is definitely dead. Equal chances for each, in my opinion. Either the cop brought some southern justice to him or he somehow overpowered m/outsmarted the cop.

It seems weird that they only had one deputy transporting a capital murder suspect. Seems like a situation for a two man job.

So they ran off together. Let’s see how that works out.

This is why you can't let family members transport capital murder suspects to court.

Or they are on the run and banging. Seems odd to not only send one person to transport a murder suspect, but a woman at that.

Certainly not a one woman job. That poor woman is probably dead at this point.

ETA:

The sheriff added that it is a "strict violation of policy" for inmates with those types of charges to be escorted anywhere by one deputy, but they believe Officer White wasn't questioned because she is the head of operations and coordinates all transports.

Lady cop is definitely dead. RIP and hang the perp when they get him.

You dont need your hands free to overpower a woman, even armed, when you're 6'6, all you have to do is fricking headbutt her or blindside her and shes in trouble.

Sad.

She ran off with him. She told everyone they were going to the courthouse, but he didn't have anything scheduled that day.

There seems to be a number of different stories. One says he had a court appearance while another says it was a mental health eval while he had no eval scheduled.

Guess I don't see why it should be so hard to get the story out of the sheriff.

Was he scheduled for something or not? Makes a pretty big difference.

I at least made my thread a very questionable WYHI thread.
