Why do you think he was pulled so far over that his car was halfway down the ditch?

The cop wasn't being called in to investigate a crime. It was a traffic accident.

The guy clearly fricked up, but you're taking it a bit far.

I'm not saying he set out that day to shoot someone, but this is fricking absurd.

Absurd to the point that any explanation is not out of bounds.

Police officers are NOT trained to use deadly force based off of assumption, it should be the last resort.

the cop was responding to a fricking car accident, not a bank robbery. Yes, I think the cop should have understood that a citizen will have his wallet out when the cops arrive on the scene of a car accident.

I challenge you to find me one source of someone calling the police after a car accident, waiting on said police to arrive, just to pull a gun on them once they do arrive.

He's obviously stupid and/or not well-trained. Why would you want to give someone who is either stupid or not well-trained a reason to shoot you?

2 things

cop looked pretty distressed after the fact.

getting shot in the gut has to be just one of the worst things ever.

Bonus thing,

Always behave as if the cop is a low wage walmart worker. Because that is what the majority of them are. Some are good dudes obviously, but most are eggheads (with guns). Understand the situation and treat it as such.

He deals with multiple people and multiple situations. He's had to wrestle people trying to steal $20 worth of items from Wal Mart. He's worked LSU/Southern sports games with only positive experiences. He's booked/fingerprinted thousands of people 98% of which go through without issue.

What a dumbass cop. The dude obviously was having trouble getting out because the car was leaning in. I'm just glad the guy is white.

Deductive reasoning and having functioning eye balls would say yes.

Scene of an accident? Check.
People called you to come and waited? Check.
Has hands up with black square in it which is obvious on a grainy dash cam? Check.

Is it unreasonable to assume that the cop who shot this fellow had dealt with criminals throughout the day and that he was potentially not well-trained?

Assuming a cop will act on every single situation like he's in the middle of a drug house raid is the definition of an unreasonable assumption.

tell that to the families of the people smashed on I110 a few months back when they got out to help others. I don't feel safe within 50 feet of cars going 70-85 mph. If my truck was driveable I would have taken pictures and gotten right back in truck. and I won't get out again unless its necessary.

still bad shoot. don't try to lump me in with the cop apologists
