Animals on planes is crazy to begin with. Even for blind people. It creates a safety issue anyway not to mention liability if one of those dogs bites someone.

Lighten up Francis.

There has been a rise in the availability of false emotional support animal credentials online

Here's the real problem.

Most people are just trying to avoid paying the fee to transport their pets, and airline employees don't have the time or knowledge to verify the legitimacy of these credentials.

Damn straight.

Start with "tightening the leash" on ESAs, and eventually doing away with them.

Then crack down on the obviously FAKE service animals. Took vacation last week and saw at least 4-5 dogs whose owners had bought a cute little vest for Rover that has "SERVICE ANIMAL" printed on it in basic block letters, and were taking him on the plane, no questions asked. These were obvious house pets, laying down in the middle of the floor; sniffing at everyone and everything. Not trained service animals.

Glad they didn't get on my plane.

Yeah you can buy those vests on amazon. The real ones are easy to spot out. My old store had a lady who shopped there weekly who trained service dogs. Those things were workers and listened to every command and immediately obeyed. They didn’t act like house pets.

On my last flight they let a dog on board, but they announced no peanuts!!

Aren't some folks allergic to dogs?

I saw one dude that had his dog laying on the floor, all the kids were petting it, he was encouraging them.

I know I have seen people with service dogs that requested no one pet or mess with them. In turn the dog didnt approach others.

This, I don’t get how it’s allowed. What about allergies? I find the concept of a pet a little wonky anyways, but I hate em.

If the baggage loaders handling animals in transport wouldn't kill them, the airlines wouldn't be having this problem.

I agree that he emotional support animals ooc. But people that have legit medical support dogs, like blind people, are fine. Those dogs are usually very well behaved and won't bother anyone.

We put my wife’s grandma in a wheelchair in airports and football games because, while she can walk, it best that she doesn’t walk such long distances that both of those entail.

Grandma should be staying the frick home.

Why? She’s 89 and in perfect health. We just don’t want her walking miles at a time.
