I was super happy to have airbnb last weekend in a small town with bad hotel options. 3/2 small house on owner's land with a table and chairs, big sectional, full size refrigerator for milk and fruit, and seperate bedrooms was excellent since the grandbaby was with us. Plus no one heard her being loudish when she was excited about things

They asked us to put trash in cans and load dishwasher. There was a laundry basket so I put used towels in it. I gave her a good review and she gave me one. We usually use airbnb for big family groups and always get good reviews because we are not slobs.

Te worst part has been when the AirBnb expects you to do a full cleaning and will charge you for any tiny thing. Even though you already paid a cleaning deposit.

They tried to frick me over badly this summer.

I stay in a beach house in Florida and we got there late. After dark.

Anyway stay is mostly fine other than the AC not working the night we check in. I couldn't get a hold of the owner since it was like 10PM. I can look past it since his AC tech goofed. I was extremely understanding frankly.

Anyway we check out and 3 days later the host hits me up that we broke somewindow and its like $1K to fix. I'm like the frick you talking about? He sends some picture of a window by the pool with a 4 inch crack. He claimed the cleaing folks check every time and saw it. He provided zero proof of any documentation that it wasn't there before. I decline it and go through the nonsense airbnb process. The side with the host dispite no proof. Apparently I am supposed to check the place top to bottom for any minor thing.

Frankjly, even if I was checking ythe crack was so minor I wouldn't have even expected to have to say anything.

I coimpletely closed out the card I used to book it. They tried to charrge me and it didn't work Airbnb contacted me later and I told them to go frick themselves.

Screw them.

If I wanted to clean and strip beds, I'd stay home.

Airbnb was a massive scam on Nola.
Appears many of the carpetbaggers with $ may be left holding a bad investment as the rules tighten

this makes me irritated. We stayed at one in the woodlands a few years ago due to needing multiple bedrooms. I noticed the stove clock was flashing and did not show onthe digital display when burners were on. Messaged the owner for him to say it has been broken for 2 years

I rented a place on the beach in Rockport, Texas. It was too big for us. We left it clean. Took about 20 minutes to do so because we don't live like pigs.

Also some airbnb I've rented don't let you adjust the AC. I've had them locked out. Good thing I can usually bypass that but it was a pain with a house in Florida that was 75*. And they had the pool heater off. Which wasn't that bad but it felt tacky and cheap when I'm paying nearly $300 a night.

Abnb is great for 3 day weekends in Savannah, Charleston, Nola, Ashville, where you can stay right within walking distance of everything, may or may not allow a dog, and we haven't had any nazi's, I can't really complain. They've all been great experiences. But again, we weren't shopping by price, but by location and amenity.

I need a $30 and hour maid. Mine is $150 every cleaning and I usually only have them come 2-3 times a month.

I usually have my batman tell my travel secretary to pay cash for a house close, sell it after its trashed out with hookers and blow. If I meet a 10 (more like when) I may throw her the keys. I only stay in Trump 5 star penthouse suites if it's a hotel option, unless I'm at Augusta, I'll stay in Bobby Jones' Cabin.

Worst case scenario I'll have hit up S or FourAces, I stayed at FourAces Martha's Vineyard place a few days when he had to fly out to Milan for a few new bespoke suits. Some Givenchy model spilled some 1869 Château Lafite-Rothschild on his white tux.

Odd I airbnb in Europe and Mexico and they always want a copy of my passport. I wouldn't want to rent my house without knowing who I'm renting to.

Why aren't cleaning fees simply figured into the total price?

Is it just so the price seems lower and shows up at the top of the list when people search?

That's probably the sleight of hand causing a lot of the negative response.

I don't think anyone thinks cleaning doesn't cost money. The main issue is the way the cleaning fees or duties seem like an extra that gets popped on.

How can you check your Airbnb reviews? I didn't even know renters were reviewed.

Do people seriously leave massive amounts of dirty dishes in the sink of AirBnB’s? I get leaving a cup next to the sink or some tissue in the bathroom trash can, but is it seriously an issue with people leaving full trash cans and completely filthy kitchens?

A lot of people leave Airbnb’s nasty as hell. My wife owns a cleaning company that takes care of vacation homes and you wouldn’t believe how nasty a lot of people are.
