I would NEVER do this to a wife, friend or relative.
Total a-hole move imo

Probably most airports by now if I’m guessing.

I’ve been through Charlotte, DFW, Love Field, and Ohaire in the last 90 days and all of them you still had to do that bullshite in the regular line (which was at least 5x as slow as precheck)

I'm silver status due to the primary united card being in my name. If the rare upgrade happens, I'll let her take it. Doesn't matter to me, she loves it, and I typically can get a BJ out the deal. win win.

I fly my private jet and she flies commercial coach to the destination. I do this to remind her who wears the fricking pants

Funny thing about the “rules” is that they change at every airport in regards to what you can and can’t have in your carry on.

Once when traveling to the Middle East on business the wife said she wanted to go (we had lived there for several years and she had a number of friends). The company gave me a first class ticket, but I wasn't about to spring $12,000 for a seat for the wife. I got her a coach ticket - we thought maybe she would get upgraded, but it didn't happen. She was a real trooper flying both ways in coach with me up front..

You couldn’t switch seats with her halfway to let her get some sleep?

My entire family has global entry which comes with precheck. Alot of airlines allow a spouse or anyone in your party to also join the upgrade request. If only one seat is available it will be offered to the person with the status but if multiple seats are available then both can be upgraded. I don't request upgrades because we have three in our reservation.

I am TSA approved and my wife is not. I just wait for her after I get through the TSA check in. When she travels with me I get her a first class seat with my frequent flyer miles and I sit in coach. One time I got her a coach seat next to me in the back of the plane where I prefer to sit and she complained about everything. I guess Jerry was right when he told Elaine once you fly first class you can't fly coach anymore.

You leave the b!tch fend for herself in the regular TSA line while you head to the airport bar for drinks till she is through the madness that is TSA.

Just kidding…like any self respecting man you either pay for her upgrade and TSA precheck or you go through the regular line with her.

Delta Diamond but my wife is one too. We usually let the upgrade list play out. If I have to work I take the upgrade if given. If we are on vacation either she can have it or we sit together. That is for domestic only.

International or long haul I make sure we are first / Delta One

What a stupid fricking thing to post about. This is one of those things you keep to yourself so you don't reveal what a POS you are.
