that's a huge fallacy in aviation, both military and in the airline business

While I can say, from my anecdotal experience, I haven't seen a whole lot of black people in flight suits at Barksdale, I have seen quite a few women in flight suits. Not sure if they're pilots or crew, though.

what I mean is that the reason there are are more white male military and airline pilots than women and minorities is because that's the majority of applicants and usually the people that have a lifelong interest are white males, there's been a strong push for decades to try and cultivate women and minorities to develop an interest in aviation, the numbers are up of course, but the bottom line is that that there is zero discrimination involved, except now discrimination towards white males, it's just that the simple fact remains that more white males apply for pilot training/airline jobs than do women and minorities

Yeah, I understand that. It's like the whole STEM nonsense in academia. They're frantic to get women and minorities in STEM fields, by they're just not interested.

bingo, but the narrative is that we need more women and minorities in these fields, which is okay, but the other shoe to drop is the incorrect but always played card; is
the fact that there are fewer women and minorities in these fields is because of discrimination

Lugging around thousands of pounds of high explosives in a high performance aircraft that requires you to think miles ahead of yourself isn't the place for race based affirmative action.

I mean why focus on pilots is all im saying .Are white men complaining about not enough of us in Nursing? teachers etc.. What about the NBA/NFL ? Not enough whites there? The military should have no excuses. Maybe its because women and minorities don't want to join the military or they don't want to be pilots? why lower the curve to take the lesser qualified?

Funny how they never tell you why it's necessary beyond the "diversity is our strength" trope.

I've said for a while that I think in the next 10-15 years, we'll have college graduates that either can't read or can't read beyond a 7th grade level.

I've a friend that's retired from the state(La) that kept getting passed over for promotions by women/minorites with less experience, qualifications, and seniority, he went to his supervisor and told him that although he didn't want to leave he had many opportunities in the private sector and if he had hit his ceiling he would leave, he was told to go get a Master's, that was his only chance for promotion, he looked around for the easiest school(this was before online degrees,) and chose Grambling, he told me that he was confident that he was the only person in his classes the entire time that could read and write above the elementary level, including his professors, a lot of his classmates probably would have been classified as illiterate, and this is in a Master's program

That doesn't surprise me in the least. There are a lot of schools that are simply diploma mills that are constantly teetering on the edge of losing their accreditation.

Had an internship with the state when I was in school and the girl next to me - who had just graduated from LSU with a degree in English - asked me how to spell "academic". Besides the irony of the word she asked me to spell, she literally had a computer in front of her to give her any information she could possibly want. Kind of blew my mind.

I wish these idiots would cease using the military for social research labs.

Some things should be off limits.

These fracking liberals love the idea of a weakening the military. That makes them an enemy of the country.

You should study up.

Discrimination in and of itself is not illegal.

If there is a specific law for a particular situation, it may now be 'illegal discrimination.'

Without a specific law for the particular situation, it can be considered 'legal discrimination.'

Remember, lawyers are a-hole wordsmiths, and they, along with frickstick judges, are who write these laws and determine their meaning.
