How dare they use their already taxed earnings to buy products which are taxed to make something without paying additional taxes

But if I am the buyer, why would I risk drinking something brewed in the back woods, using methods/recipes, and questionable materials that could potentially kill brain cells or liver damage... just to not pay taxes?

have you met people from n. mississippi?

there are some dry counties in MS.

honestly it is. Drinking moonshine is asking for trouble. And the good residents on n. ms are just too fricking stupid to realize it.

How is drinking moonshine asking for trouble? I make moonshine. Not to sell, but small quantities for my own consumption and a few friends now and then. It’s as organic and pure as you can get. Moonshiners use fresh ingredients to mash and distilling is just condensing vapors from boiling. As long as you know what to throw away (which isn’t much) then you’re fine.

For instance, I like to use a variety of apples from a local orchard and molasses. It usually comes out about 130-140 proof depending how long I let it mash. Clean and pure.

It’s amazing that the alcohol companies get any competition eliminated at the expense of the tax payer. No different than the mafia.

In today’s day in age why is alcohol regulated?

When stuff like this makes the news, i shake my head.

Who the frick cares if some guys want to by some alcohol.

All this cause some guy isn’t paying tax on making alcohol.

I too have distilled, although I used my neighbors still.

However, if you don't know what you are doing, you can cause blindness or other ailments. I am guessing these guys didn't know what they were doing. It wasn't a hobby, it was a commercial operation.
