Is it wrong for one (who has already once been rejected due to an injury/surgery) to think he could pick a job and incentives in his own time frame after attending meps?

the medical examiner wouldn’t give him the go ahead because of an old shoulder injury
I had reconstructive knee surgery in HS and my recruiter told me to keep it quiet to avoid a waiver. 4 or 5 years after I had been in my doc was reviewing my record and asked if he missed anything. I told him about my knee and asked why it wasn't listed. He told me shite got lost all the time and added it to my file.
Point is... unless its something they're going to notice on their own, dont tell them.

Well thats not advisable. You are just as likely to be booted out of the military for fraudulent enlistment-concealed medical.

I get what you’re saying Top but I refuse to believe there’s absolutely no way around it.
Army Regs exist for one reason; to be ignored,
But he should not waiver on wanting to be a medic if that’s what he wants.

The army needs/loves combat medics in the 82nd. He will get that after the 7 day window, no problem.

None of that is guaranteed and the waiver process can last from 2-12 months.

Do what? NO ONE is guaranteed those slots.......

He said his ASVAB score placed him in the alpha catagory if that makes any sense

I don’t enlist people brother. I lead them. Thanks for what you do. Tough job.
ETA: And I enlisted in 1981 (11B) and was commissioned in 1991 (MS still serving). So I got a few t-shirts under my belt.
