“As the first woman to lead the biggest beer brand in the world, it’s an amazing opportunity to really evolve and elevate Bud Light, this brand I love,” says Heinerscheid.
I think this is actually a big issue with modern corporate America. This overarching desire to “evolve” causes an inability to see and appreciate that the status quo will often be better than any number of possible alternatives.
If you have a particular product brand that is an industry leader in sales, why would “evolving” it ever be anywhere close to the top of your priority list?

I just looked and Blackrock is not a big institutional investor in AB.
Blackrock is mainly an index fund manager. They do not decide which stocks to hold and how much to hold. They only hold what is listed in an index like the S&P 500, or MSCI EAFE.

Trying to get my dad off Budweiser but he's 58 and has been drinking it for 40 years. He tried Yuengling and wasn't a fan.
What does his boyfriend drink?

To think they went from bud bowls to this. Their marketing was head and shoulders above everyone for years.

Whatever way they decide, they own 6.65% of Disney's stock. Them and Vanguard own enough to tell the Disney CEO's to attack a governor, put gay stuff in all of their kid shows and cause the stock to tank.
If they tell Bob Iger to dance like a monkey, he will get his little hat and find the organ grinder.

Is Anheiser Busch going to replace the American market with the African market, where intolerance for LGBTQ issues is substantially stronger than it is in the United States? Maybe there are other markets to tap into, but losing such a large share of the American market will hurt.
Not to mention, African beer brands are actually pretty damn good. Windhoek Lager is better than anything you can get mass-produced in the US, and is brewed to German purity standards.
Even Castle Lager, which is the African Budweiser, is pretty good.
There's no real market for an international beer in Africa. Market is saturated, and tastes are set.

would love to see how this is impacting sales at MLB parks and what that does as a trickle down effect to football stadiums in the Fall. With the move to allow alcohol sales in college stadiums, I guarantee a ton of Athletic departments are thinking about how to he avoid a major loss of what we were expecting as a new growing revenue stream by getting mixed up in the Bud Light mess…
Anecdote is anecdotal, but I was at Wrigley back in April, with a coworker from Long Island and another from Boston. We're getting beers (Goose Islands, IIRC), and the two Chicago natives in front of us are getting Old Styles. One guy outright says, "I can't believe I'm drinking my grandfather's beer, but I can't buy Bud Light anymore."
The taps for Old Style and the local stuff were running rampant. Didn't see anyone in the beer line get a Bud Light. shite used to be synonymous wi5h baseball and summertime, to your point.

As long as baws are embarrassed to drink it in front of other baws there will be no return for Bud Light.
