Now that was actual triggering there because I could not avoid that popping into my head.

Africa has been my ring back tone for 8 or so years. I tried to remove it a couple years ago once the fad ran it's course but everyone got mad at me so I had to resubscribe.
Almost pulled it again when Weezer tried to make the song fashionable. frick them.

Pitbull and Rhinna did their own crappy rendition of it for the aquaman soundtrack
Been reading up and found this interesting. Toto's Africa replaced Men at Work's Down Under as the opt song on he charts, so there was a lot of ode's to faraway lands going on at the time. Why can’t we have nice things like that anymore?

Not sure if that's even the best song on DSOTM, Roger.
Now, for my money, Photograph by Def Leppard is the greatest song ever.
But Africa is obviously a universally beloved song.

I won't say that.
But, I will say Toto IV was a great album.
Afraid of Love is a lost gem...

You said it brother. I put Toto right up there on the pedestal with Bread and America.

Probably my favorite band of all-time. I’ll take Hold The Line and several other Toto songs over Africa tho and Rosanna too for that matter...

Other songs on that album are far better.
