Still, not debating his ability to run the prison. His illegal and unethical dealings within the prison system throughout the state is what's the issue

I don't think anyone posted denied he cleaned up the prison and I've done work in there off and on for all of my adult life and yes it is a better place from that particular standpoint.
But it is still owned by the state and it is not Burl Cain's private prison and he should be above board on all matters which it seems he hasn't been. Or at least it is alleged.
and above the Dr. I was referring to is not there anymore. Apparently he moved out of state.

The article stated the prison transformation as a myth. That's why I responded to it.
I personally don't like to jump to a conclusion on allegations, but I do agree that he shouldn't be above the law.

Others have said he is untouchable on the state level and while this may have been true in the past, I don't believe this is the case now.
Angola Warden Burl Cain to resign

He must have finally pissed off the wrong people in BR now.

I'll go ahead and say it is too late for him.
I had lunch with a very good friend of mine today who lives in St Francisville and is very in touch and connected. I mentioned this and his comments were about the same as the majority of this thread. Great job at the prison but the whole family is dragging on the DOC tit and has been for years. He told me he didn't think he would last long and a lot more things would probably start coming out.
Guess he was right.

In less than six months, there will be multiple threads claiming the OT brought about his resignation.

How about he run the prison without being shady and corrupt.

Well next time he runs something in prison his salary will be about $.13 an hour.

A guy I worked with claims he used to pay Randy Levespere $100 bucks a year and he would prescribe him whatever pain pills he wanted.

At age 73 and 400lbs, it should be a short one.

Cain took himself and a video camera to Earl K. Long Hospital in Baton Rouge, where another inmate, Nicholas’ associate Mike Myers, lay dying. Cain recorded Myers’ confession that it was he who did the murder of which Nicholas had been found guilty.
Nothing to see here
Prosecutors were able to dismiss the "confession" since the method of execution was wrong but hey nice try I guess
