We probably could have done a better job at that. She is mostly house trained with a very occasional accident. We take them out often and certainly as soon as she wakes me up.

She just loves the porch.

Well we have another back door and I take her there and she still just walks back around to piss on the other porch. If I’m out there I usually coerce her to go in the yard but I’m not always around and sometimes you just gotta let her out and can’t be there with her. Like when I’m cooking or the damn game is on.

Actually it’s female dog if I read right. He better have wife pull them pants down and show dog where to piss.

Honestly it might have to do with the excessive heat we are experiencing right now. Our little chihuahua will only walk in the shadow or shaded areas on the yard right now in the middle of the day. He absolutely refuses to step foot in the direct sunlight.

I have a Bassett/Pointer mix that’s sweet as can be, but dumb as rocks. We rescued her from a place that had all male Bassett's so she copied them and lifts her leg to piss like a male dog.

We don’t have the same issue as you, but just felt like sharing my retard bassett story.

ETA - We also tried to teach her how to shake, but she didn’t fully grasp the concept. Now you’ll be sitting across the room from her and she’ll catch your eye and lift her front paw up to shake, as if you’ll somehow be able to reach her from 15 feet away.

Your porch is soiled now, so will be tough to break as long as he still smells it. I dont know what your porch is made of but getting rid of the smell might be the first step. I suggest bleach or vinegar

Crate her for hours then immediately take her to a spot in your yard where you want her to piss. Continue this until she makes it her favorite place to piss. It'll take a few weeks but she will figure it out.

Pour some vinegar on the porch and then give it a good spray down.

Most dogs don't like the smell of vinegar.. That could make it a less tempting place for her to go.

Like they said . Every morning take her to the same spot in a lease . When done , praise her , maybe a little treat for a few days . Don’t let her get on the porch until she’s done her business.

That makes sense actually. They usually roam the yard but lately they just both sit by the porch.

I thought my dog was the only one that did this. Guess I’m not alone

My beagle was doing this. So I go outside and use this if he tries to pee on the porch. It’s just a little burst of air

Now if he sees me with it he gets into the grass.
