If you seriously want some help explaining BR traffic, crime, flooding and social patterns with relation to where college students should live on a given budget, email me at bryndenblackfish@yahoo.com

BR can be a great or terrible experience based entirely on your commute and the people living near you.

That's worse than Sherwood. That's on Lobdell near Greenwell Springs. She'll be the only white girl in the complex (assuming she's white)

is sherwood forest blvd the same area as sherwood?

There's a Sherwood Street in BR which is in a bad ghetto area.

Sherwood Forest Blvd really depends on where you are. North Sherwood is hood, between Florida and I-12 isn't much better. South of I-12 there are a few run down apartments and some that don't seem too bad.

As others have said, the commute would suck to LSU.

What's her budget? She'd be better off living in an old complex near campus. Just avoid Tigerland and Gardere.

Honestly, if she's looking for an apartment in the $700-800 range around El Cid would probably be her best bet.

For example, these are $775 and near campus.

If she's going to LSU I would stay as close to campus as possible. With apartments elsewhere, the commute to campus will be soul sucking, and parking will be a bitch.

Anything north of 12 on Sherwood is hairy. I wouldn’t put my child in any of those. S Sherwood is better - but not great. Longridge and 21 South are under new management and are coming around. Afton Oaks is pretty good.

Depends on your budget. I lived at Turnberry Place for 3 years and its off Bluebonnet. It was pretty nice.
