Oh that’s so nice that you think the money all goes to the kids. I hate to burst your bubble but it doesn’t.

My child support is not as high as this guy’s but I flat out know for a fact a good portion of what the states steals from me each month goes into things like clothes and shoes and even trips for my ex-wife. Trips she takes when I have the kids.

Her entire life style is supported by the child support I pay not just the kids.

You broke a legal contract. You are paying the penalty for it. What she does with the money awarded to her is her business, not yours.

You knew the consequences when you entered in the contract. It was a risk you took.

Thought there was a legal difference between alimony and child support? Isn’t child support legally required to be used in support of the child?

Found the divorce attorney.

Or

Found the angry divorced woman.

Or both.

And I’m pretty sure

can’t be true or at least legally speaking shouldn’t be true. Alimony and child support aren’t the same thing as far as I understand.

"That's what the law says!"

Just because it's what the law says doesn't make it right. In Sharia Law, as a woman, you can legally be killed by your own family for shaming them.

But hey, it's the law! You knew the risks when you decided you were going to lower your veil and kiss that boy you weren't married to!

Found the person that understands personal responsibility and consequences for their actions.

I pay child support. I would rather not.

They need it exactly as much as he does.

You are wrong. Any person can go to DCFS and have them pull the money from the person having to pay support. And women don't spend the money on the kids.

You, me, and everyone else in this thread know not all of that money is going to the kid.

I thought Jeremy Renner was gay. Never would have guessed he had a kid.

Buddy, I see the paperwork. I also see the dudes missing court dates for all this.

As for the "they don't spend it on the kids", if the person cares that much, they can demand records. It's not like there aren't ways to seek recovery and reduction in lieu of recovery in these circumstances.

I think that the worst part and situations like this is that both parents could start to try to poison the child with words of hatred about the other parent

If I am paying 30K a month in child support I would "care that much". Is the kid enrolled in Harvard? What kid needs 30K a month? The only acceptable circumstance is if it's being put in an account earning interest for the kid to access later in his life and even then it's still too much.

So you kind of reveal yourself here as most upright dudes just pay directly if in this situation.

Hey asshat I paid directly for two years. Two years and well over 6 figures. You know what the state did? Classified all of those payments as a gift and put me into arrears for the same amount. Allowing me to pay double. Even over the objections of both me and my ex.

I paid her an entire months amount on the first like clockwork. Now she gets 1/2 on the first and 1/2 in the middle of the month.

Not only that I also pay the bulk of their tuition to a high end private school she chose and informed me about 6 weeks after they were enrolled (I didn't find out because they were told they were not allowed to tell me that secret).

So 1) you can kiss my arse and 2) I am not really a fan of the "poor mother" routine when it is typically the women filing for divorce.

Before you try to excuse it, I wasn't a drunkard, cheat, nor abusive. She just "felt like there was more out there".
