You strike me as someone who usually tends to care about actual definitions of things. I candidly don't care if a morally bankrupt perv/dirtbag is conflated with a pedophile in society/on the internet, but they're not the same thing and they present very different threats.

But look, if you're a dad of a 16 year old girl and a 7 year old girl the predators you're concerned with are wildly different. You can be equally concerned but still realize that. I imagine anyone who hunts or prosecutes such people for a living would say the same.
And this has actually been a thing in the Epstein/Trump saga when we talk about why the evidence may be a major challenge for the DOJ in determining whether videos, etc. constitute criminal activity.
