Academy Sports Announces Continued Commitment to Historically Black Colleges

Racism is defined as……….
I was at the LSU vs Southern game. I saw these traditions.
Academy can choose who to pander to. I can choose where my money is spent.

Looks to me like Academy is looking to dump overstocked inventory at a reduced profit margin.

Does OP feel victimized because Academy Sports is doing a promotion targeted toward students of historically black colleges? If so, OP has serious issues.

We all know who the “victims” are. They are the ones who need affirmative to be able to succeed in life. The ones who need special consideration to be be accepted to real universities. The ones who are continually crying about how they are discriminated against while other minority groups in this country flourish.
Victim? Not at all. I just choose to go elsewhere. No problem for me.

Dude, businesses give student discounts targeting every college in America. Pick any college and Google what discounts you can get with a student id.
But to you it’s only a problem if the discount is given to students at Grambling or Southern or Howard University?

The issue is far greater than Academy. Academy is just doing what they are being told to do by Wall Street. Now if you really want to change stop spending your money at any chain type store and only buy from locally owned businesses but you are going to have to be happy with paying more.

1,011 black/76 white
90% of their faculty is comprised of black employees. Last time I checked blacks make up 15% of the population.
Is Southern actively recruiting other races to correct this disparity?

White kids can and do attend HBCs. Grambling had a white QB years back. Marissa Tomei roomed with Lisa Bonet.
