Brand new unit. About 3 weeks since being installed. It has been working perfectly . Today when I came home, I went to kick the temperature down and the unit would never come on. Any ideas ? Bad thermostat ?

try switching the fan to "on" and see if the inside fan comes on.
fwiw, actually, I know you are sweating your balls off...the first thing I would check is all associated circuit breakers. There are probably a number of the scattered around (i.e. in the breaker box, outside by the compressor, in the attic/closet by the evaporator). Flip each of them off and back on.
ETA: that is actually the second thing I would check after ensuring that there is no plugged drain line, as someone else suggested.

Drain line plugged. Check the water pan.
But as another poster replied......call the company that installed it and insist they come to check it ...... in a timely manner.

Expeditiously. Then I would check the breakers and the pan.

That shite is miserable...I would either plan to spend the night in a cheap hotel or go to the wal marks and get a window unit for about a hundred bucks to get you through the night...then you will have a window unit to get you through the next hurricane, too. Just be sure you get a 110V unit.

could be thermostat.
Does the fan come on when you turn it on?
Could also be a bad contactor not kicking the compressor on.

Are you absolutely positive that you are in the right House?

I would definitely check the float switches. Mine did this right after a new install.

Had a similar issue w/ a new unit. Turns out they did not put in the correct amount of coolant and the unit would turn off and come back on. I did not realize that was occurring.
But, after a set number of those restarts it would not come back on. It is some type of damage control feature.
It is a heat pump with part of the system in the attic.
Solution: They put the correct amount of coolant in and have not had an issue in 5+ years.
If that is your issue you can not fix it yourself. You sure do not want to do anything to invalidate the warranty.
