the most interesting piece of information to come out of the sentencing hearing was that...
at the end of the day... it was the DEFENSE's decision on whether the trial was televised or not... the prosecution and court both were good either televising it or not
and the DEFENSE decided AGAINST having the trial be televised... but wanted to have the sentencing hearing televised
why would the defense not want the main trial televised but want the sentencing hearing televised??????

Oh his brother said that...
Well we gotta set him free... Never mind the investigative and court hours put in, and a conviction by jury.
Yeah, what his brother says is all that matters...

How about this, did anybody watch the trial?
Did Jussie and his team provide any type of evidence that he actually was attacked by white guys? Did his story change since it was originally reported. How did his team respond to the testimony of the Nigerian brothers.

So is he implying that Jussie's attackers were real and are still out there? There is no in-between
Yep, and if a couple white people were picked up and imprisoned for it Smollett and his brother would be perfectly happy with it even though they know good and well they were innocent. They're some sick minded individuals

Hey Darryl James/DJ30.
Jussie is getting time for this. Didn’t you say he wouldn’t?

I believe there was enough evidence here from the little I know
but on a conceptual level, putting jussie aside, the above should be a fair albeit frustrating statement about our system. Plenty of crimes can’t be proven in court and while it’s not satisfying it’s an important part of our system.

Except there was a check Jussie wrote right? And video camera footage?
More than that even. The whole thing was stupid.

The fact that he is who he is and was convicted where he was convicted in today’s political landscape should prove to anyone paying attention that he was guilty af

Yeah. He paid them with a personal check.
But he said that was for something else entirely.
In Jussie and his brother's defense, rantards are defending Will Wade in the same way on tRant right now.

The fact that this fricktard, and members of Smollett's "team" are given an ounce of airtime without being laughed off the podium is all you need to know about the state of the modern media (narrative over facts).
This is being done at Smollett's direction, reflecting he remains unapologetic for what he did, and what he attempted to do (foment racial strife and obtained the ruination of two completely innocent white men).
This shite is why the judge should have given him 3 years.

The prosecution showed the jury video footage, recovered by the police, that he said showed Mr. Smollett driving with the brothers on Jan. 25, which was four days before the attack and was the day they say Mr. Smollett introduced the idea of the attack to them.
Much of the prosecution’s evidence comes from information that the brothers led the police to after they were arrested. The jury was shown surveillance footage of the brothers purchasing the supplies used in the attack: gloves, ski masks and a red hat at a beauty supply store, as well as a rope at a craft store, which investigators say was bought with a $100 bill that Mr. Smollett gave to the brothers.
The jury also saw a copy of a $3,500 check made out to Abimbola Osundairo, which the prosecution said Mr. Osundairo had viewed as intended partly to thank him for agreeing to take part in the planned attack.

This is all the evidence they needed...

Dave Chappelle torpedoed any chance of meaningful support after that stand-up skit about Jussie on his Netflix special.
