There was a glitch in the audition process.

It's still bizarre that there isn't screening before they get to campus. We had to go to BR and audition, then once you got through and were allowed to enroll in the marching band class you still might get cut during or after camp.

It's never been uncommon for A&M band members to not know how to play an instrument, as long as they can march

And this isnt accidental when you go on with the charade for four years.

You would think after sneaking in the band, he would at least take the initiative to learn how to play the instrument. It's not hard. Obviously, he was there for one reason only: STTDB

I can understand faking it during the field marching practice. But what about the music practice in the bandroom. What about when they break out into sectional groups. The band director has never once focused specifically on his section in order to sharpen up their parts for various songs? It's not hard at all to tell when someone isn't playing.

If this is real, it's more likely everyone in the band knew, but they just didn't care for one reason or another.

I’ve never played the horn, but how hard could it really be? You either blow or you don’t blow. There are only 3 different buttons that you can press. Just make sure you don’t blow on your horn too loudly, just in case you are pressing the wrong button.

Besides that, you probably play the same 5-6 songs over and over again, so just watch a few YouTube videos and play along with them until you get it right. After that, enjoy your cheap housing.

He obviously played the skin flute as his instrument.

You would think he would have learned how to play after four years. I guess the only instrument A&M teaches is the skin flute.
