Did he have a life outside of school? Like sports, family vacations or funerals to attend...etc?

I've always wondered how this can happen in a single school year, much less K-12.

Oh no, kid was a total loser and a C student.

My daughter did it this year, but she had 6 tardies, which count as 2 absences for the award. We were fortunate with the sickness this school year. Lord knows we needed a break.

My teacher/professor at LSU awarded me an A in Acct 2001 even tho I earned a B because I skipped my grandmother's funeral in Va, my parents bragged TF out of my missing the funeral even tho the rest of my family except for my uncle's applauded my effort, not so much from an academic prospective but the fact my Grandma was a total count and IDNGAF

Even shot on himself at school his senior.

Took me a couple reads to realize the kid wasn't blowing loads in class.

I know a guy that DID have his name announced for 14 years without missing a day. Note that there was no kindergarden back then. ... He still had one year to go to graduate.

I don't think he can be called a nerd... just determined.

My dad just retired but he worked 40+ years and only missed work twice for illness. Both times because he was hospitalized. Once he cut off his toe and the last he got c dif

He never once took your family on vacation or got sick or attended a funneral in 40+ years?

Showing up to a class where a professor doesn't teach isn't an achievement (despite everything that person might've been told and the obvious merit our society would place on it). College is merely the opportunity to pay a monopoly for a degree. Knowledge is knowledge regardless if it comes from syllabus mandated text or a library book

I meant never called in sick.

I think it's crazy he was never sick enough to miss work for 40 years

That kid probably never missed a day of school for at least 2,300 days. Still not as long as the Cal Ripken Jr. consecutive game streak.

Woah.

That stat becomes even crazier when you put it like that.

Is that Live Oak he graduated from ? Our son has had perfect attendance from 6th grade to 11th, would be cool if he can make another year without missing a day

That's impressive - it should have at least gotten a mention at graduation. I'm sure they could have cut 30 seconds from any one of the two or three speeches given by the old and boring teachers that were given the opportunity to put the attendees in a coma.

I honestly can't trust people who's never missed school for more than a week.
