Exactly. Instead of breaking down the traditional roles assigned to genders society seems to be doubling down on those roles. If you're a boy and you like girly things, then you're actually a girl. WTF kind of thinking is that?

So parents stereotype females and tell their son he acts more female than male so he should change his sex. Kid hasn't even gone through puberty yet. This is insane.
I agree with others though that this kid is going to kill it in sports when he/she enters high school. I wonder if he/she will be forced to undergo hormone treatments.

It's funny movies like this and Mrs. Doubtfire make jokes about stuff like this and yet this is really what our country is becoming.

I just thought of this analogy. Saying that making gay marriage legal will lead to making pedophilia legal as an argument against gay marriage is like saying that making marijuana legal will lead to murder becoming legal as an argument against legalizing marijuana. It's absurd. The two have nothing to do with each other.

I just don't understand when 9yr olds opinions mattered. Maybe they she be allowed to make financial decisions also. Drink alcohol, smoke cigs...why limit it to what sex they identify with.

Yep. I watched a kid grow up who was very feminine early on. From probably 4-10 this kid was giving his entire family a nervous breakdown. He was always a good, sweet kid, but very drawn to typically female interests/mannerisms.
Fast forward 2-3 years, he's a good athlete, happy, personable and apparently very attracted to girls. While it wouldn't have made a difference regarding how good of a human being he turned out to be, how fricked up would it have been if he had been labeled gay or trans by progressive parents/school/medical professionals at the age of 8 or 9?
