I don’t understand what the tortoise could have eaten this whole time.

And humans in solitary get crazy and suicidal half the time, and it’s probably even harder for an animal that doesn’t have any understanding of what the hell is going on. I can barely think of a worse life than what this tortoise has endured.

He's a shell of his former self.

Reptiles are the dumbest animals. They aren’t thinking anything too deeply. The tortoise’s lack of brain power is exactly what would keep it from going crazy like a human would.

What kind of tile job is that?
They just laid tile on top of gravel and dirt?

Go ahead and shut this thread down. Nobody’s topping that.

This news item gives rise to a new phrase: Crazier than a floor-sealed Brazilian tortoise.

There's a guy I work with, complete know-it-all (at least he thinks.)

The other day he claimed that he understood pretty much all animals, apart from snakes.

Then went on to say that sharks are basically puppies.

Before, he claimed turkeys came from Africa.

Just a paragon of intellect.

You could say he's right in a lot of cases.

What you’re doing is called anthropomorphizing. Animals don’t react the same as humans. And animals that lead solitary lives, like reptiles or tigers, don’t need social interaction. They’re solitary animals so they don’t get lonely or need interaction the way humans and herd animals do.

Sharks are so dumb their brains have just enough power to keep their organs operating. No thoughts are going through a shark’s head.
