It is up from previous generations.
Probably more to do with the fact people of any age are more reluctant to step down in lifestyle. "Kids" would rather stay home, have a lifestyle they are accustomed to until they can afford it on their own. In days past, being independent was more important.

That's my issue. The cut line is nonsense. For example. Let's say it's up significantly only for those age 18-26. One could publish a stat that says it is up for those ages 18-60 and one would be technically accurate but entirely full of shite.
