If I set up twitter correctly instead of following porn stars, etc., it would probably be much more useful to me.

The "best friends" feature on Snapchat typically causes problems and in my opinion it should be removed.

it means these kids have no real social interaction with people on a face to face basis. Everything is through a dam screen. They have no clue what its like to enjoy conversation with someone without typing it. They have no clue what its like getting together and doing things with friends without everyone taking pics with phones and saying "hold up let me out this on instagram", or "hold on let me update my status". Its frigging ridiculous

You're exaggerating a ton here.

I did plenty of shite with friends, and still did plenty of shite alone. I played video games, I did internet bs.

You have however many posts on a damn message board online and who knows how many other online forums. Don't be hypocritical.

Adding to this website breaking up marriages and the sort, it is now responsible for disgracing a judge and sending him to jail.

Uh.. Is having kids the only "important life event"? Because someone is a teenager, there is nothing in their life worthy of sharing with their friends? Gtfo with that.

I think it is clear what I mean when I said "I use FB to see pics of friends kids...and to see important life events."

In the English language, the "and" signifies something else, not the same thing. So clearly I meant important life events other than having a kid. Yes, teenagers can have important life events. No, hanging out with their friends is not one of them. Getting into college, the passing of a loved one, finishing high school, picking a major - these are important life events that teenagers can have. If related to me, I am happy to see them.

Don't really go hand in hand.

And you went from calling it spacebook and tweeter, ignorantly putting it down to saying you are ok with what it was meant for. You're just being an a-hole.

And I don't even give a shite about Facebook and the others. I think they are too consuming. But you're just being a Debbie downer.

I have never used snapchat, but if the "best friends" feature means you designate someone as a best friend and this causes problems, presumably for anyone not designated a best friend, then I assume you are very young, relative to me anyway. You get to a point eventually where you don't even use this label. I have a few good friends. They are all close to me. I could pick one as my favorite but the rest could not care less if they were not chosen.

No it doesn't.

It places the 3 people you send/receive the most snaps as your "best friends."

As a communication and news platform, Twitter is essentially unrivaled by most other applications. Unlike most other social media platforms in which you have to create a profile and add friends to get started, on Twitter, you simply select a username. That's it. Unlike Facebook or Instagram, Twitter doesn't really feature the user as the focal point - it's the content that's important.

Since signing up for Twitter 4 years ago, I haven't made a single Tweet. Yet, it's one of my most used applications, simply because I can calibrate the type of information that I want to see. I can follow certain individuals for LSU recruiting news, and can get updates as they occur in real time. I can get updates on sports, tech, and politics, all in a single stream of content that is custom tailored to my interests. Most breaking news hits Twitter first as well, and you can frequently get updates on a given story in real time from people who are directly on the scene.

So, there aren't any pictures of people I couldn't care less about doing things I couldn't feign an interest in, no "like if you agree" posts, no drama, no friends - I can actively use the service while being a relatively passive member, all while staying up to date in areas in which I have an interest.

Thank you. I guess I never really thought of it like that.

Not the case at all, your "best friends" are not chosen. It assigns you them some strange way based on who sends you the most pictures or who you send the most to. I'm not 100% sure how it works, but anyone on your friends list can see who you have had the most communication with, which you could imagine can cause problems when it comes to females.

Facebook - Average demographic signing up for FB are 57 year old women. They want to see their grandkids

Twitter - I don't get twitter unless you're a media member or some sort of celeb.
