Been out for days. Are they gonna block traffic for a week to fix them?
Stay classy, New Orleans.

They will have to reinstitute the tolls if you want them to work properly,

It will take a study, funding, and a trip to Brazil for Teedy to answer that.

When did the S&WB obtain this jurisdiction?

So others don't have to do what I did. Not a very appealing to the eye design.

The lights? Those are the old ones.

This is what they spent $22 million on.

The LED lights installation was a DOTD project.
Typical fricked up DOTD project!

I installed an LED light strip under my cabinets that can do all that and it cost me about $14 and took ten minutes.

DOTD and its merry bands of contractors could screw up a teenager’s wet dream.
DOTD in Louisiana should mean:
Don’t count On This Department

I don't know about any of their other projects but the lights were installed by Frischhertz Electrical which has been doing work in this area for almost 75 years. I think they have a pretty good reputation. About midway through the project they made a big deal about how terrible the old electrical infrastructure was and how they were having to make it all work. They were supposed to do a 100% replace but I wonder if they cut corners along the way.

Would look awesome on MNF and SNF aerial shots if they’d actually work

You never know about contractors, they get a set of plans and put in a bid. Sometimes the state is open about the dangerous pitfalls of a project or they leave out all the important details to get the low bid they want and then project gets stuck in a black hole of incompleteness. Just look at some of the delays in bridge projects in SELA.
Bid always goes to the lowest bidder or a combination of factors such as Minority/Disadvantaged Business, how much did they grease the political palms, whose brother in law of a state legislator has a do nothing job there, etc.

That company has been around forever. No doubt they know how to play the game in Nola. I'm sure kickbacks were thrown around everywhere. But I think they're a pretty decent electrical contractor as far as workmanship goes.
