JKUs with the 3.6 get 15/16 mpg (maybe 17 if you baby it). The more mods (bigger tires, lifts, re-gearing, etc.) the worst the mileage.

That's what I'm looking at, maybe next summer. Waiting to see if prices stabilize.

Don’t they make a diesel?

Yes and a good friend has one. Gets 30 MGP on Hwy but I mean diesel cost 40% more than gas in a lot of cases. It's a wash at best. Now if there's another reason to buy a diesel, maybe...

Can't speak for this engine, but generally a diesel engine in the respective vehicle puts out a lot more torque than the gasoline option. Diesel engines generally last much longer than gasoline. If you plan to have a new vehicle every 5-10 years, it won't matter, but if you plan to drive a vehicle until the wheels fall off, that's likely to happen before the engine is finished.

I’ve had my 2014 4 dr Sahara for 9 years now with 133k miles and besides basic maintenance stuff…no major issues

OP….make sure you get good glass coverage with your insurance. You will be replacing the windshield at least once a year, likely twice a year. Angle of the windshield seems to beg for cracks

4dr; 3.6L - 16.5 mostly city miles.

Side rant: I am on my 5th Heep, CJ, YJ, TJ, XJ and now JL. I drove a truck for a while but went back to the Heep. It’s just what I am comfortable in and like. I also use it the way it was intended to be used. With that said with all of the Jeep names and ducks this may be my last one. At least last new one. I may look for a project CJ5 and name it Blueberry.

I don’t rat mine out, but I do use it on our property…. Got some weird looks at LSU last hunting season when my hood was covered in blood.

My problems are all self inflicted, as are 95% of “jeep issues” people hear about.

Mine is my daily driver. I’ve only off-roaded in it to get to hiking trailheads in Sedona.

I’ve driven it to Tahoe and northern Cali and San Diego multiple times for road trips and found it just fine comfort wise. Those that say it’s way too uncomfortable for road-trips must be a little “sensitive”

Jeep gas mileage sucks and that is before you add several thousand pounds of accessories like bumpers, winches, rock guards, and what not.

They also ride pretty shitty. I would not want one for a daily driver if I drove more than 10 miles per day.

What a totally irrelevant post, even if it were correct.“
It’s a “ look at me I can post meaningless crap on a legit good forum “ post.

Just my opinion here but the models from 2018 forward have the Pentistar v6 engine which are an improvement over the prior generation.

24 is not bad for a Jeep. You drive a Prius or something I guess you're right.
