Ah, millennials. That hyper-aware generation that is reportedly so much more advanced and unbothered by nettlesome issues that have vexed their elders. Same-sex marriage? What’s the big deal? But when it comes to race, the seeming enlightenment flickers out. As a new GenForward Survey of 18-to-34-year-olds reveals, white millennials are “quickly becoming the outlier group in this generation.”

Millennials are ushering in a new era of American society,” the GenForward Survey notes, “one that is the most racially and ethnically diverse in history as well as defined by youth-led social movements aimed at raising awareness and rectifying issues of injustice.” But the results I’ve shared with you and the others within the 44-page report show that millennials are as divided as the generations that came before them.

Millennials are starting to get out in the real world with real jobs and exiting the think tank that is Universities. I don't know why you all are so surprised. Every generation's 18-24 year olds are idealists. Only the ideals change.

People that are 21 and younger are not millennials they are generation Z. I wonder how many of them participated in this survey and if that messed with the results.
Very interesting though.

As will the next generation, and the next, and the next...

I've seen people consider those born as late as 2000 to be millennials which is dumb. In all these millennial related polls and studies, I wonder who they consider millennials.

Agreed. And you shouldn't be able to vote unless you are a member of a taxpaying household

General consensus seems to be 1980-2000 but you'll see it vary a little

I got in an argument with a chick who claimed millennials are people born in the early to late 90s. I didn't know what to say.

At least not for anything concerning property tax dollars. Only fair if you have some skin in the game.

I understand your argument, but don't agree. For instance, my parish has a tax initiative on the upcoming ballot that would be a property tax used to exclusively benefit public education. I'm sure that you can imagine the demographic of most property owners in a predominantly rural parish. These people in large part either don't have any school aged children or have their children in private schools. Under your argument, public schools are dead.

I'd rather get rid of property taxes and pay a sales tax. Property taxes are shite imo. It means that you never truly own your property.
ETA - sales taxes are the only fair tax. Makes sure that everyone - drug dealers, illegals etc - have skin in the game

How did the Japanese overcome racism against them? I mean just in the last 60 years we spat on them, incarcerated their entire ethnicity, and took everything that they had.....and a few short years later youd welcome them as your neighbor. How as a people did they overcome?
