Detroit making a comeback?

For years I've always been told places like Cleveland and Detroit were shite holes. Interesting.

Detroit is still a cool arse city.

Read an article in the National Geographic and the deveststion and recovery reminded me a lot of NOLA and Katrina.

I'd no doubt move there if I cared for the cold

A lot of the places on that list are absolute shite holes. They didn't have to do much to improve.

I'll pass. Mom is from MI and I have a ton of family in DET. Mostly unsavory types.

places such as Scottsdale, Arizona, and Plano, Texas, or a college town such as Madison, Wisconsin, which are already affluent and homogenous to begin with.

In other words...these places are already awesome.

We will only reach inclusion when people stop making lists like this.

Louisville will likely never have racial inclusion. The neighborhoods here have been largely segregated for several decades and the West End might as well be a wasteland (for a variety of reasons beyond just race). And a good portion of it is self-segregation across the board.

Of the four that achieved both, Charleston, Denver, and Austin are over 65% white.

It'd be interesting if the people of color category was further broken down in this study.

How on earth is SF racially inclusive? They're 5% black while Oakland is 30%. And according to the NYT (I know...) Most black San Franciscans live in the projects.

Detroit is way better than BR. That's the highest praise I can give it.
