Buddy Hacket was dumb as a brick
Rather the opposite in fact -- he was very interested in medicine, & sometimes attended operations to observe

She immediately asked for his autograph for her brother so Wigner pulls out a pen and a slip of paper off a little notebook. Dirac signs it and the girl gets off the elevator.
Imagine those Holiday conversations. Dirac and Wigner were the same age and Wigner won his Nobel Prize THIRTY YEARS LATER. I'm sure Dirac would just say, "'Bout time."

Friend of mine is a bartender in Irmo SC where Dustin Johnson is from. Said Dustin came in once after he had hit it big and him and his buddies ran up a huge tab. Said the whole crew waited on him hand and foot. Said DJ was an arrogant prick and tipped $10 on a $1000 bar tab.

But Hacksaw Jim Duggan was a dick. I went to get an autograph and he yelled before i could get to him, WE'RE TALKING!
Crazy. Bad night maybe? When I was in 2nd grade my friend, me and his dad were in the parking lot and saw him exit after the show. He talked to us for like 15 minutes about wrestling, moves etc. Asked if we wanted to him to body slam us. I was like frick no. My buddy was game. He picked him up spun him around and gently laid him down. Signed our programs too.

I played football at OBU a long time ago, we were playing Tarlton state and had practice at some high school near there. Cliff and Roger Staubach showed up and stayed talking to us after it was over. Two genuine, thoughtful, down to earth couple of guys. Really made an impression on young me.

I don't expect a celebrity to stop and engage with every single person that tries and stop them....

I've had the pleasure of meeting Shaq a few times as well and every. single. time. he is the nicest dude imaginable.
I haven't met Shaq myself but I have several friends who have, he lives about 35 minutes from me, and they all say to a man that he is a super guy.

I’ll tell you who isn’t. The Rock, at least not during his wwf days.

Rock basically treated the guy like he was family and even went and got Kane and Edge to come back in the locker room as well to meet him. There were no cameras and nobody else really around. Just made this kid’s year for no other reason than he was a fan.
Wrestlers are famous for understanding the assignment. Especially when it comes to kids. Hell John Cena sets records for how many Make a Wishes he does.

Shook hands with Rodney dangerfield and red fox. Two of the nicest fellows you ever want to meet. They were hilarious even offstage.

yeah, I live in San Antonio, and he lives up off Babcock Rd on some acreage. Very nice home...see him occasionally out and around town. Saw him flip off some people at a CVS on Babcock and 1604 a few yrs ago for shouting to him from the parking lot. Dropped wife (no pics) off at AP and Duncan was dropping his family off in front of me. Didn't acknowledge them because I prefer not to be flipped off when I can help it.
Tommy Lee Jones lives near me in Terrell Hills and well known for how unpleasant he is to fans around town. His college roomate was none other than the inventor of the internet Al Gore, so TLJ feels more important than he is.

Since y'all brought up rasslin', I wanna say that Kevin Von Erich is the nicest guy I ever met in all my years attending Mid-South shows at the Centroplex in Baton Rouge.
My family was making our way into the building a bit early before a show, as was Kevin. We and him were the only people in sight. We said hello and asked for a picture together. He stopped walking and sat down his bag, then asked where we were from. He lifted me off the ground and situated me on a railing before taking the photo with my brother and me. He joked that if he didn't hear us cheering for him later, he'd find us and break our camera.
I'll always remember meeting Kevin, because he didn't have to be as friendly and accommodating as he was. This was long before cameras on phones and no one else was around to see or hear our interactions. He was a legitimately good dude.

That bob hope thing is a cool story .
A friend of mine went to high school in Houston , and one of his high school buddies was a lighting guy at the Summit in Houston. One day his buddy calls him and says “ the sixers are in town . Come on down and watch them practice “
So he gets to the Summit and watched them wrap up practice and then his buddy asks Dr J and Charles Barkley for a game of two on two . They agree and play to two baskets , so not a very long game .
I asked my friend if he got their autograph and his response was “ I was playing basketball with the Doctor and Sir Charles . I wasn’t worried about an autograph “
That was probably 30 years
ago and it just changed my whole perspective on autographs. Haven’t asked for an autograph from anyone since .
Also a cool story...Barkley and Dr J. Wow.
I wasn't into autographs, but my grandaddy loved Bob Hope and that's what prompted me to try. He and I used to stay up late during Christmas holidays watching old Bob Hope movies. I got to tell him a cool story anyway.
I covered Barkley in a pickup game when he was a sophomore at Auburn. Maybe "covered" is too strong a word. I did steal the ball from him once when he was not paying attention, but only once. Something that big should not be able to jump that high or run that fast.
He'd have made a great TE.

I had the same experience as a child in Baton Rouge, only Duggan didn't ask before slamming me. He was getting his bags out of his trunk, hoisted me up and bodyslammed me into the trunk, before pretending to shut the lid. That scared the shite out of me, even though he was a good guy at the time. Mid-South fan interactions were some crazy stuff!

Took my daughter to the Braves fan day a couple of times. She got several autographs, including ones from Kevin Millwood and Skip Carey.
Kevin was as nice as he could be even though we were at the end of the line and he had already signed over 300 autographs. He chatted with her (no pics, she was only 12) for a few minutes and made a fan.
For Skip and Pete and Joe, we were maybe 5th in line. Pete acted like he had ridden to the ball park with Cheech and Chong, Joe was very friendly, and Skip acted like he was hungover, sitting on a tack, and someone had asked him to explain the infield fly rule for 40,000th time.

I'll go opposite first. Wife (no pics) ran into Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie years ago at Le Jouet toy store on Airline in Metairie. They could not have been nicer.
Was also in the same room with Harry Connick Jr. and his family members. He was a complete stuck up douche nozzle. To me and the wife any way.

Arnold was an infamous prick back in the day. He’s supposedly mellowed some, but I wouldn’t bet on it.
