A good friend of mine and longtime lurker of this board is not doing too well. Please pray

Went back to the hospital this morning after his white blood cell count dipped into oblivion. He is suffering from an autoimmune disease called HLH and it’s not looking too good. A priest is coming later today to administer Anointing of the Sick.

The guy in question is one of the best LSU fans I know and is a great friend of mine. He also happens to lurk this board and comments on the shenanigans here daily.

If you’re the praying type please offer some up.

Not usually a good sign. Hope your friend can pull through though.

Prayers to him and family.

I have blood tests for several similar illnesses these week and I'm terrified.

Prayers. And if you don't mind, what were his symptoms?

Prayers said. I've been in a similar place. Tell him to keep the words of St. Paul in mind: Fight the good fight. Finish the race. Keep the faith.

I don't pray OP, but i'm sending all the positive vibes I can his way. I just lost a good friend of over 25 years to Cancer last week, so I do understand where you are coming from.

I’m very close to his family. Such terrible pain they’re going through right now between this and all of the other BS they’re facing.

Terrible disease. 50% mortality. I assume they tried the recently approved drug Gamifant? I doubt it would help him now. Life is a shite deal for many people. I wish him luck.

There are a lot of people walking around who have received that sacrament.

Just means he's potentially in trouble.

Yeah, I can’t even imagine how his parents feel right now. They are good people and to basically have 2 sons in a world of trouble is unspeakably unfortunate.

It basically started with low energy and feeling tired all the time. It progressed to where he couldn’t stay awake past 8pm or so and had no appetite. He ended up losing 20lbs and for a skinny guy like him that’s borderline emaciating.
