I can see why a selfish narcissist wouldn't appreciate the value of such a companion.

Unfortunately, I see more and more people like this in society today. It's social engineering and it's sad. Sad not only because compassion is being socially engineered away, but additionally sad because humans are so easily herded in that direction.
