Just respond and see what he has to say. It isn’t going to go away, and it’ll be a lot worse if he contacts your wife or kids and they find out you not only knew, but knew again recently and STILL didn’t tell at least your wife.
Or rip the bandaid and tell your wife before you respond. I can’t overstate how betrayed I’d feel that my husband was dealing with this behind my back. I would not be mad about the situation; I would be very upset about not being told.

while this might be true, look at the title of the thread...he's obviously known for some time that this might be the case...
and as rick9plus mentioned, if anyone in OP's family has done an ancestry or similar dna test, this guy could very well already know that OP is his real father...he wouldn't need a dna sample from OP to prove it...
