Anyone’s A/c system barely keeping your home cool? Mine is half 2.5 air handler and 2.0 compressor.

I have to run fans around the house.

I’m seriously considering buying a portable a/c tomorrow.

Normally our system works great but it’s being a sissyboi this week.

My a/c in the front of the house is not keeping up with the heat. Lowest temp it gets to in the day is 79. Back of the house does well.

This is the sort of heat that will expose some efficiency issues. Dirty coils, leaks, and poor insulation can be a factor.

Check the home/garden board. About half the threads are AC related.

My wife was showing me the climb in our Entergy bills over the past five months.
Our house is not very big and July was $342.

Same. Mine has been set on 71 during this heatwave. Late afternoon it gets up to 73-74 in the house for a few hours.

3 ton unit. Keeps the house around 72-73 even in the hottest part of the day. Been keeping up pretty good...until today. Crapped out. Called the AC guy. Thankfully it was just the capacitor and he got it back up and running in an hour.

good unit (daikin)

Daikin is a very popular unit in northern climates and only recently trying to get into the southern market. Time will tell how their units hold up to the challenge of souther climate/ workload.
