They still do that shite...

When I was a TKE at Southeaster back in the 80's, we actually stomped with the black frats in their Greek show. It was a blast. They appreciated that a white frat wanted to participate with them. We wound up being good friends with the Phi Beta Sigmas since they helped us with our routine..

We didn't win anything, but they did give us an appreciation award...

I have zero problem fraternities but the wider public owes them zero respect, absolutely none.

The 2 situations have zero in common. The military has earned respect and one could argue they are owed respect from the public. Why should anyone care how Frat memebers feel about it all seriously.. Why should their concerns and objections even matter to anybody outside their circle? It would be like somebody getting mad because I wore a shirt with the name of their country club on it but haven’t paid any dues. Why is that anybody’s problem but theirs?

U Mad, bro? I said emotion aside, apparently you can't do that. You clearly don't understand military culture or black fraternities. The bonds formed are similar. Your value judgement about the worth of either group is irrelevant. Arguably, the general public should show the military some respect. And the black community would also show frats a certain level of respect. The same public circles would also feel that something was earned. All you are left with in your argument is feelings.

Earned... hmm. Not sure I'd use that word. It's a club you're selected for. It's mostly a popularity contest.

I mean, I could invent a practical fusion reactor and they still wouldn't let me in (even though I'd probably earn a Nobel Prize).

Lol that was a paragraph of total nonsense and the only part worth addressing is pointing out how stupid one of the comments you just made was. The bonds/connections between frat brothers is in no way comparable to military members. They are not similar at all. A better comparison would be members of the same country club or Mardi Gras krewe
