It is put into heroin, but it is also being sold not mixed with anything. Small amounts are put into capsules and sold that way as well.

People are NOT demanding "small amounts put into pills" "like crazy", as you say.

Just to put this into perspective. Fentanyl is dosed in micrograms for therapeutic effect. Usually 25-100 mcg. 97lbs is almost 44 trillion micrograms.

I was issued the sticks that we nicknamed lollipops which are administered by mouth.

No way I was going to administer it for some soldiers neck pain that wasn't attributed to trauma plus I have to document if I gave any.

97 lb just seems incomprehensible. Sounds like enough to cover every Hospice patient for 5 years and then some. Where does it come from?

Damn Mexican's

Most Mexicans are poor. Blame the DEA, CIA, Nixon, and every president since. The war on drugs allowed these cartels to become rich and powerful beyond imagination. And has made our country more dangerous than ever.

Psshh, that's no lethal amount of heroin. That's a good Friday night right there is what that is.

1 pound of fentanyl would be enough for 126,000 fentanyl patches (assuming 50 mcg/hr patches lasting 72 hours)

I also believe that the folks that produce OxyCotin came up with a new formula to keep people from snorting it. Apparently that caused a lot of pill heads to drift toward heroin.

They used to have prescription fentanyl lolipops but people were nodding out with them and then od. They quit making them quit a few years back.

You can't blame the DEA on this, their hands are tied.

Instead, blame pharmaceutical companies, lobbyists, and salespeople who gave out huge amounts of money for doctors to prescribe it left and right. You can also blame them for lining the pockets of politicians getting them to look the other way and continue to push back against legalizing Marijuana.

The DEA was pretty lax beyond standard enforcement until this crisis began. Once people started dying from this shite the DEA was forced to step up enforcement causing doctors to cut their patients off completely. Its not like these doctors didn't know what they were doing to their patients. All they saw were dollar signs...

To the people saying addicts dont want fentanyl... you are sadly mistaken. I realize most of this is probably being used to cut heroin but many people seek it by name.

I was an addict for 4 years and loved Fent. Its cheap and the effects last longer than just about anything out there. They make many different forms that people abuse. Powder, gel in patches that can be smoked, nasal spray.. hell they even make fentanyl suckers.

Glad to say it has not been a part of my life for a long time now. Just wanted to give the perspective of someone who actively pursued it.
