I’ve never understood people (usually millennials/genz) who claim people weren’t meant to work 40-50 hrs, 5 and 6 days a week for their whole life just to retire at 65 and die 5 years later.
Tell me at what point in time in the entirety of human history did people not have to work their arse off for their entire lives, and usually just to literally survive.
Hey it would be great if no one had to but guess what, for 99% of people this has been the norm since the beginning of human existence and likely will be for the remainder.

In general, I agree with you. Do you have a family though?

I do and they don't understand a lick of why I'm doing what I'm doing. My mother thinks I'm a loser. But I'm from one of those "have to get straight A's and live a text book life" kinda families.
Luckily I left myself a little runway. Got a huge buy-out on my pension and have some rental properties that keep the lights on.
I got an invite to afm this fall so that is helping morale wise.
Though I feel like I've mentioned this before but when everyday is Friday that shite causes problems. For instance, when is the last time you said no to a beer on vacation before lunch? Now imagine that, but every day. That's the one part I'm not dealing well with, especially this summer, admittedly.
