It's 1 my man...anything besides that is bad engineering and a waste of a degree, i guess
Math not your strong suit I suppose. It’s ok. There’s always a lot of you in threads like these.

A) That's a very poorly written problem, intended to be confusing. No real engineer or anyone else with a firm grasp of math would write a problem in that manner.
B) As is it written, the answer is 9.
Agreed. But technically it's 1.

I know I just wanted to quote what you typed before the edit and make fun of your fat thumbs.
They aren't even that fat anymore

9 – 3 ÷ 1/3 + 1 = ?
9 - (3 ÷ 1/3) + 1 =
(3 ÷ 1/3) = 1
9 - (1) + 1 = 9

Anybody not saying 1 is fricking retarded. Don't have to be an engineer, astronaut, or lawyer to figure it out. This is fricking simple. I do love how these threads are 15 pages long every damn time.

It's not poorly written. It's very obvious that the 1/3 is a fraction because they used a ÷ in the same problem

And the answer is:
The doctor is the sons mother because you don’t bury the survivors.

No technically it's 9. You don't just assume 1/3 is a fraction.
As it's shittily written, it's 9. Divide left to right then add/subtract left and right.

s clear that you are supposed to be dividing 3 by one-third
You're making quite an assumption. Math isn't subjective.... There are rules and shite.

1 or 9
If you rightfully assume that there are implied parenthesis around the 1/3 then the answer is 1.
If you are a pedantic a-hole regarding PEMDAS then the answer is 9.

Nope - need to know your order of operations

Edit: it is 1, had to do it on my calculator

I just wanted to point out that I was the first person to get this correct. And lol @ the aggie getting -1

Edit: apparently the 9s are interpreting this as (3 divided by 1) divided by 3. Which means they’re adding some weird parentheses that dont exist. It’s actually more confusing trying to piece together incorrect logic
Lol
9 is the right answer, unless you are an idiot
People saying 1 are the ones adding parenthesis
