Likely an abuse cycle more than a genetic component. You telling me his father engaged in sexual abuse like that along with his crimes means I'd wager an incredible amount of money RBR was sexually abused as a youth, too. And a lesser, but confident, amount that his father was as a child.

There is an incredibly small population who is just genetically malfunctioning. The vast majority of these psychos are created with abuse, typically as children, and often by family.

Yeah, truck stops can be sketchy.

850 is a big number but the sex trade is dangerous as well as the drugs most lot lizards are probably on.

Turns out that there should indeed be requirements and certain rules for allowing people into this country and for giving people jobs.

What?

Genuinely, what are you talking about? I’ve never heard a person on the left take up for a trucker.

Almost every trucker I’ve ever seen is about 100 pounds overweight, disgruntled, and smells bad. Thats a textbook republican.

Theyve made movies in the past showing a truck driver killer.

It makes perfect sense.

Most of the murders south of Houston in the killing fields were truck driver victims.

I work in logistics and talk to truck drivers daily. I find it hard to believe any of them are smart enough to kill someone and get away with it, much less multiple people.

They would almost assuredly frick up somewhere along the way.

Most of these guys can’t follow simple instructions, and I’m not sure how some of them even tie their shoes in the morning

ETA: Probably the easiest scenario for them to do it though being a truck driver so I guess that tracks

If you ask my true-crime-loving wife, you need to add a zero and comma to that number.

Self-driving trucks can't get here fast enough.

Was probably a kid. I've heard of truckers occasionally taking their kids with them on the road since they have sleeper cabs.

Something wrong here, and I don't mean the obvious. You telling me with the hundreds of cameras at each truck stop and all along the highways and interstates, and the electronic signatures of the trucks, and the truck stop records, and weigh ins.............and the cops can't figure this out? And with a twenty year study? What are they doing, finding a killer and studying him and how he kills for ten years?

You have pics of lot lizards in the lot. Nancy was alive here at 10pm jan 1. Now she is dead, 500 miles away on jan 23. You could deduct it down to fifty trucks easily. Go from there.

I really don't give two shits about how a serial killer becomes a serial killer. Execute them in the most painful, humiliating way possible. And do so quickly. Not 20 years after conviction so some bleeding-heart lawyer spends a shite ton of money buying these savages more time.
And that incredibly small population who is genetically malfunctioning needs the needle too. Their condition shouldn't be the focus. Their behavior should be.

No family, multiple states, assuming they are even "found" in a timely manner. I can see even the dumbest murderous truck driver being able to get away with this.

I cannot. ESPECIALLY when they have a twenty year concentrated program going on. What are they doing, just patting themselves on the back when they find a dead girl? In twenty years you could have every old and new lot lizard identified when they step out of the car or truck. Your programs should be almost instant. Who they are and what truck they got in driven by so and so. Ok, last time we saw julie was here, and she got in this truck, and it stopped here and video doesn't show her getting out. So follow the truck (retrospectively) .till she either gets out at a truckstop or you board the truck and she if she's still there.

Think one of the guilty truck drivers works for the FBI part time, only thing that makes sense.

Author CJ Box has a fictional book series(Cody Hoyt/Cassie Dewell) that deals with a character like this. Calls himself the "Lizard King". I believe he is introduced in the second book of this series. Highly recommend this series and the Joe Picket series that CJ Box writes.

Not usually and often can't identify them (no ID, no missing person report) so they don't know what area of the country they even came from.

Killing Jane Doe transient hookers you get at a truck stop and dumping them 3 states away is a really fricking hard crime to solve.

There are multi thousand cars/trucks that pass there daily, plus (at the time) they didn't know for certain it was an actual trucker doing the killing.

Not to mention 20 years ago when there were barely any cameras.

I can't imagine anyone not having their pic somewhere on the web that the gov could match up. If there are those people you tend to them individually before they get murdered. ID them beforehand. You don't need them to have an id on them or a family history, use the internet and manual methods before they get murdered. Start with that and you get a DNA database going to get your murderer. IMHO
