Someone once defined “dork” as a little boy who went around smelling little girls’ bicycle seats. Maybe WilliamTaylor21 can confirm.

Yeah, this wasn't a thing in the '80s. It's never been a thing.

If I gotta explain it to ya, you weren't old enough to know.
I was too young when I found out about it!

Cha-ching was national. It was the catch phrase by then unknown actor Seth Green in the Rally's commercials.
Wasn't Rallys a New Orleans/gulf coast restaurant chain?

Rally’s started in Kentucky.

"Buddies" - Is a term referring to non name branded items. I remember it being used mainly for shoes, but it also applied to jeans and shirts.

Yes. Possible mother of a sorostitute.

I was thinking of Checkers. I think the two chains merged at some point.

When I was in high school (class of'89) we used to use "fubar" a lot which was recycled WWII slang, although none of us knew it at the time.
I've had this guy out at my house recently doing some work and he apparently has "FUBAR" and "FUPA" confused. Never in my life have I been so amused at a guy trying to explain schedule slippage to me.
