think your guys can just quit and collect unemployment?

Me: “If you have a fever, you cannot work for 2 weeks or until you have proof from a doctor that you are not infected.”
Employee: “I’m going to collect unemployment even though I lied about being sick.”

You underestimate the ability of uneducated people to manipulate the system without regard to the long term repercussions like me filling their position when the leave.

He won't receive anything.

Y'all really don't understand what needs to be provided to receive benefits.

Basically: if
you don't provide him with sick leave, he has quit.
He receives nothing.

They will call you to confirm his story.

If he cannot work because medical reasons, he doesn't qualify for unemployment. He has to go to disability.

But continue telling your old wives tales

John Kennedy just said on the news that if your laid off you can get $800+ a week from unemployment!

That is $20 an hour for a 40 hour week of work or $41,600 a year!

How excited are you to be getting a raise?

The exclamation points seem to indicate that you’re pretty pumped.

Oh, he's very excited.

Mainly because, like most on here, he doesn't understand how unemployment works

Not in every state. Some don't disqualify for voluntary leaving or discharge. Alaska doesn't. Sometimes there's a delay in getting benefits, but no disqual.

That's fine.

He's in Louisiana. He's either lying about owning his own business, or he's the worst business owner ever

This can't be the first time he's had to deal with unemployment claims

“Theoretically you could receive a check for 600 dollars plus the amount that the state would normally put in which I understand is about 200 to 250 dollars,” Kennedy said.

I’m still working and will continue to work as I’m management IT for a large medical facility. My job actually got more needed with the adoption of TeleHealth.

I do know that keeping our employees will be a huge issue now. Every MA or LPN will no longer be able to work putting us in a huge bind which will put patients that need medical services in a huge bind.

Follow me since you seem to be slow.

I’m a LPN or MA making $12-16 an hour, I can keep working and expose my self to getting COVID-19 or I can stay at home and make $6-8 more an hour. What an I going to do?

I’m not even blaming them, but do know businesses will struggle to keep workers and in our case that will directly affect patient care.

Also, you get laid off your company insurance runs out at the end of that month so what happens then? The laid off employee now files for a government supplemented insurance and is getting that free as well.

So now this same person is making:

$600 from feds
$250 from State of La
= $850 a week or $21.25 an hour 40/work week.

and government healthcare!

I'm not sure how this can happen for the amount of people that are laid off.

+++ $600/week until the rest of the year in the latest $2 Trillion Wall Street corporate and social welfare bailout.

$600/week just happens to be $15/hr x 40 hours/week - BOOM. Bernie and AOC got their minimum wage living standard into law until the end of the year ++ you still keep the state amount. Once garbage like this goes into law, it NEVER ends.

Watch Phase 4 of the Corona Bailout. Trillions more coming for Postal Service, Airlines, Casinos, Cruiselines, New Green Deal type carbon emissions reductions for the free $, Same day voting registration with no ID, Mandatory Diversity, reparations, complete illegal alien amnesty for 30 million ++

Why do we pay taxes again? Just tell the SOBs to electronically print the fraudulent money and leave us alone.

Well if you quit you shouldn’t be eligible for unemployment

Maybe he thinks you "should" get that, but he lives in a dream world most of the time anyway.

Well, in this scenario, they've quit and aren't eligible for anything
