You damned right it will be. $41,000/year for unemployment?

That can't be right or at least can't be for very long. I hope like hell there is some way that it can be verified that those people HAD A JOB through February 2020.

Anything else in unacceptable.

You can't just quit a job and collect unemployment. You can't just lie about a job and get unemployment.

That is $20 an hour for a 40 hour week of work or $41,600 a year!

Is there a timeframe for these kinds of benefits? Doesn’t seem sustainable to me and talk about low income employees not going to work now!

Oh yeah god forbid some poor people make a bit more than their regular paycheck for a few months during a crisis.

Self employment usually gets nothing.

There would be less incentive for people to find a job if they were getting $800 a week.

There are no jobs to be gotten, Oweo. I've heard low-end estimates of 15% unemployment in the April report to high-end of 30%.

A steaming, pile, crock of shite. This whole situation should be eye opening to some. This isn't even a fricking crisis compared to some of what we've seen and the world is shut the frick down. Now we've tacked on trillions to the national debt and tanked the economy over Mildred and Frank dying a year early. Didn't hear as much of a peep over H1N1, but somehow, this is the one we should burn it all down for.

You are part of the problem. This is how these liberal idiots justify making a new society of non working zombies voting for democrats.

The SBA clauses are quite generous to small business owners from my understanding. I'm not one so haven't dug too far into it but sounds like there's going to be plenty of help available.

If, and I mean if they meet the requirements. They need to loosen up requirements to help businesses in need.

Way off. I was near the max amount for Texas Unemployment and I'm only getting north of $400/we. Benefits can last up to a year as long as I send 3 resumes out a week and dont turn a job down that's in my wage bracket (a bracket that I picked, go figure)

I'm losing my arse right now drawing unemployment, though.

They should have rainy day funds the same as the rest of us, but instead they used that money for stock buybacks and executive bonuses.

You are going to have so many people rather being on unemployment than going to work that after 26 weeks they will extend it because so many people will still be on it. I would prefer unemployment be staggered where the amount reduces each week after 4-8 weeks.

You know nothing about how unemployment works.

It's ok, I didn't either until I had to file on Sunday.

Let's put it this way: it's based off your employment history of the last 5 quarters.

The maximum amount you can get a week is $247 before federal tax. I chose to pay fed tax so I don't have to worry about it next year.

Yes: your unemployment benefits are taxed by the feds.

You only qualify if you are out of a job due to no fault of your own. So basically: you are laid off. The getting fired qualifier is a myth. You can make any claim for the reason of why, but they are going to call your boss to find the reason you are unemployed.

You must make a claim every week. In that claim, you must prove you are able to work, you have sought work, and if you have worked any amount of time.

They determine how much you are allowed to get that week based on the above criteria.

Oh yeah: There is a monetary ceiling limit you are allowed for the year. Or maybe two years. Mine is 6,477.

And for everyone down voting me for disclaiming the fed: where's my link to apply? Don't give me bs about it is in a bill. Where's my link? Cause I will apply for it right now.

I'd have to jerk off the dog to feed the cat on $800/ week.
