Shandi Wallace tells local media Thursday her 8-year-old daughter has been a student at Montessori School of Columbia. When her daughter said her ear was hurting, Wallace says a teacher told her, "Commit suicide. Then it won't hurt."

How does anyone, much less a teacher, tell an 8 year old child to commit suicide?
Of all things to say, how does that register as an acceptable response to "My ear hurts?"

She's not wrong, she's just an a-hole.

He should commit suicide...then it will be eternally Summer for him.

In the sixth grade we were horsing around and I jammed my finger, had a substitute teacher who asked why I was holding my hand and I told him my finger hurt, he quoted some scripture about if thy hand offendeth thee..., I said huh. he said cut it off, me, being my smartassed self said I would if if I had a knife, he whips out a big old Barlow, opened it up and handed it to me, called the bluff on my arse!

I know, after spring break they have to wait like a whole 2 months for their next prolonged vacation

I'd make him actually contemplate suicide to relieve the pain inflicted from beating both of his ears in so badly that his ear drums were blown and bleeding.
Like the other posters story about a knife and cutting a finger off...that's tolerable. Telling an 8 year old girl to commit suicide...frick that guy.

This kind of reminds me when I was a kid and I would hurt.. My hand or something.. And I would start crying or whining.. He would pinch me on the leg or punch me in the shoulder and I would then grab that area and start whining and he would say "now your hand doesn't hurt as bad does it?".

Especially in the summer. I could go backpacking for a month and nobody would care.

The problem is that it’s an indication of incredibly poor judgement. What other idiotic things might he be doing/saying in that classroom?
