Followed by your opinion

It losing value sitting in a savings account isn't an opinion, it's a fact, but like I said there are some legitimate reasons to have that amount of cash at certain points.

Of course there is, but most people max that stuff out and don't live within their means, hence the stats from the OP.

No one said there wasn't, but you couldn't be a fake tough guy without the comment.

What exactly did I say that was supposed to be tough? I know I get to you, but you don't have to be such a bitch about it.

Always fun having a typo in a sentence calling out someone else's intellect. If anyone is trying to act tough, it's you.

Thanks for your concern, I think I’ll be OK without it pulling its weight.

The first priority has to be an emergency fund, then insurance needs (life/disability), then retirement.

I don't need life insurance

Have long term disability with work

No kids - wife had enough life insurance to bury

Real question is do you invest your emergency fund. Our current emergency fund is in some boue chip stuff

I was just asking a question, and for the third time there are many legit reasons to have that much cash. I don't know why you have your panties in a wad. I'm carrying more cash than I usually would right now as well, but I'm going to buy a car soon so it makes since.

People do that, but I don't like it. An emergency fund is supposed to be a place you can get money when something unexpected happens. Being forced to liquidate stocks during that time could be a problem depending on the market.

I'd prefer the money in cash or cash equivalents and start investing everything once that's filled, but to each their own.
