Todays historic avg for nola is 62. With 80 in 1937 (damn 30s global warming) being the highest.

You need to recalibrate your "very unusual" meter.

Back in the 50s when I was growing up on S. La. we had days with temps like this or maybe higher and then cold and snow. It used to snow in February regularly. Now it snows in December so....guess what....weather changes. But it is not a global thing, it's local upper jet streams, etc. Don't be useful to "them". Live your life and enjoy this wonderful earth.

Gulf of Mexico still warm, so we get warm days on land too. Not uncommon in a mild winter like we've had.
