My BMW has been at the dealership for 4 weeks waiting for repairs to be completed. Some of that can be blamed on our insurance being less than responsive to the dealership. You’d think they would want their loaner car back.

Of course, it would help. But you're thinking of this like a dealership is managed by anyone with common sense, much less business sense. Every dealership is managed by some yokel that barely graduated high school. I can promise you whoever manages Brian Harris BMW is a complete moron, and what makes it worse, they think they're the smartest person in every room.
Dealerships are very short-sighted when it comes to employees, especially mechanics. This is only going to get worse I promise you.
