Uh, that says Lincoln, AL which is not I-10 or Mobile County.
That would be I-20 in Talladega County.
Eta: I see the 2nd Pic now. My bad

HQ used to be in Dallas(Southland Corp.,) I think they were bought out by a Japanese company a few years back
They’re over in Irving or Coppell still but may have a foreign parent company. The ones in Europe are actually pretty nice mostly. Way too hit and miss here though. Not like QT where every store is clean and friendly.

I grew up in Tillman's corner, and the fact they are just now getting one is mind blowing.

I was wondering how they came up with the name......

7-Eleven, Inc. is an American convenience store chain, headquartered in Irving, Texas. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of Seven-Eleven Japan, which in turn is owned by the retail holdings company Seven & I Holdings.
The chain was founded in 1927 as the Southland Ice Company, operating an ice house storefront in Dallas. Then-owned by Southland Corporation, the number of convenience stores expanded and were named Tote'm Stores between 1928 and 1946. Southland Corporation changed the stores' name to 7-Eleven in 1946, reflecting expanded hours of operation (7 am to 11 pm).

I just assumed 7-11's were everywhere? Was that wrong?

They only bought about 500 stores from Southland. Southland held on to their other 7,500ish stores. The reason you think they "bought" 7Eleven is because most of those 500 stores were in Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and the panhandle of Florida.
From what I understand, 7-11 in USA is a franchise and has a lot of franchise agreements that make it really hard for the average family to invest in them. You have to stay open 24/7 or most of the day and can only use them as a supplier. That's why they're usually in busy urban areas and are usually owned by immigrants (who employ their relatives). The ones in DFW are all owned by Indians, Arabs, Chinese, or Ethiopians. QT and RaceTrac are all corporate owned which is why they are cleaner.
It started in Dallas but is now owned by a Japanese parent company. USA headquarters is close to DFW airport near where Irving and Coppell meet.

Speedway in Loxley (I-10) is operated by 7-11...Now you know why pumps don't work 1/2 time.

Supposedly the plan is to transition 7-11s in the US (that have the space) into a closer approximation of what they are in Japan. Much better fresh food, etc.

They bought Pak-a-Sak out.

Just got back from a trip to SE Asia. Saw a several 7-11's in South Korea, & Tons of them in Thailand.
Wonder if any Korean or Thai politicians ever said:
" You can hardly ever walk into a a7-11 and not have an English speaking clerk?"
