I believe they are international now and very very large corporations .. in Asia on every corner.. and used as much as for daily groceries as anything else.. did not Japan just flag them as the muster location in case of national disaster?
Still have a few around here in katy

Just got back from a trip to SE Asia. Saw a several 7-11's in South Korea, & Tons of them in Thailand. Many shops had 7-11 t-shirts.
Couldn't believe you can hardly find one here and so many over there.

I know a woman who was one of the "Girls of 7-11" in Playboy. She wouldn't make it now - she was tall and slender and not gargantuan and fat.
She also never worked at or had anything to do with 7-11.

Circle K didn't buy them out, just bought a bunch of their real estate after they left certain markets. 7-11 is almost on every corner in large metropolitan areas, not so much in smaller areas though.

The last time I went into one of those was back in the 80s in the D/FW area.
I thought they went out of biz.

In Sweden, young people go to 7-11 after bars where the most popular hot dog topping is mashed potatoes and pickled herring.

They only bought about 500 stores from Southland. Southland held on to their other 7,500ish stores (and eventually sold out to a Japanese company). The reason you think they "bought" 7Eleven is because most of those 500 stores were in Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and the panhandle of Florida.
Circle K offered to buy 7Eleven last year for $39B and that was turned down.
