I've seen people do extremely stupid things at the south rim. I'm surprised this isn't more common than it is.

Yall should read this book..

Talks about all the deaths at the Grand Canyon. I had read the first edition years ago...just bought the updated one on Amazon.

Some people are idiots. The Grand Canyon is a massive hole in the Earth. Not a good mix sometimes.

The book mentioned how one guy wanted to fake out his daughter and make him think he fell off the edge. To do this he found a spot where there was another hidden ledge below it. He jumped to the hidden ledge...but his momentum caused him to fall off that one...and really fall to his death in front of his daughter.

When are we gonna finally see the light as Americans and ban Grand Canyons?

The grand canyon has become a damn natural-selection machine...take down the warning signs and let that baby weed the herd.

People like that aren't long for this world anyway. if it wasn't the Grand Canyon it would have been something else soon after.

It really isn't that hard to avoid falling off a canyon.

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

While I agree, they did put the path pretty damn close to the edge. You've got to be pretty careless or reckless to fall of the edge though.

You can literally walk up to the edge on a large part of it. Just park your car, and the edge is 10ft away

Nobody would be dead if we had a wall around it.

That's stupid...it's the Grand Canyon. You know it's a long fall down.

Don't do stupid shite and you won't fall off.

Foreigners are most of the victims. They are clueless around the Canyon

That is insane. Not just the fact that he fell, but the fact he was trying to play a joke on his daughter by trying to make her think he fell off the edge.

AS if getting that extra foot closer to the edge will make the perspective of a canyon 2 miles wide seem so much more real.
