Wait, so your entire "tough shite" spiel in regards to parents working from home, was simply a "i know you are but what am i"? You need to grow up.

No, that's not at all how I started in this thread.

It absolutely is. Go back to that thread and try to tell me with a straight face you caught shite because you got laid off.

Then what did I catch shite for?

And i got on, on the tail end of this thread. So, that's what you are saying now? Your argument is based on retribution against another poster in another thread?

Go back and read the thread. Or just keep trying to play this victim card. I don't care.

I'm not even interested in the school thing anymore.

How about you just log off and go sit in timeout for a bit?

I don't need to go back. I was in it.

I lost my job. It's never coming back. I've stayed at home and searched for a new job and improved my own skills. All while collecting unemployment, which is what it's meant for.

You were unhappy that I didn't go immediately back to work at some menial job.

I don't care.

Yeah, you really do. Otherwise, you wouldn't have brought that into a totally unrelated thread.

I'd say a thread about people getting paid to not do their job or having to collect unemployment and then your attitude in this thread is related.

Again, if you don't want your posts to be judged based on your personal experiences, don't post them. It's not all that hard.

Here you are, still not caring.

Your first post ITT, after I joined in:

Well then the non-working teachers can collect unemployment like you.

You're obsessed with me. Stop. It's weird.

You realize elementary and middle schools have been doing online learning with success right?

I'm crying? You're the one acting like this in this thread:

Maybe YOU should go cry to an admin and tell them that we won't leave you alone.

Online learning does not work for elementary aged kids. They need in class instruction and follow up so they don't fall behind. Pretending otherwise is simply not living in reality.
simply not true.... It works, is it harder yes but it does indeed work

It works if there is a parent there to monitor the child and make sure they stay focused on the lessons.

There's quite a large swath of children out there that won't have this.

Let's face it, teaching social studies, basic math, and reading isn't exactly a job only a person with a high IQ can do. Although I do respect what they do,

Look, I really don’t want to come at you from the mindset of an argument, but you keep citing content knowledge as a thing of whether it’s hard or not....

Content knowledge is about the least important thing that matters at any level. I don’t think educators should be held up as heroes, but the anyone can do it thing is just false—like it would be with most jobs.

Communication, organization, and patience are all far more valuable to teaching math than actually having a complex understanding of mathematics.

Nearly half of all new teachers leave within the first five years. At title 1 schools, the burnout rate is insane.

You could attribute it to the types of people who go into education, but the reality is, not everyone can do it, because even most teachers can’t do it for longer than a few years.

It’s why there are nation wide shortages.

Most people don’t have the patience. Is it the hardest job ever? No. Does it require the most sophisticated knowledge? No. But if it was such an easy job to do with a decent (though stagnated) wage, then people wouldn’t leave it in droves every year.

Online learning works for some. But there are students who absolutely NEED the classroom setting.

To expect all students to be a "one size fits all" is retarded.

For starters, people differ in how they excel at learning. There are kinesthetic (hands on) learners, there are auditory (listen to) learners, there are visual (seeing) and read/write learners. Everybody excels using a different method.

Online learning is basically read/write specific. Some people do just fine learning that way. I personally suck at that method. But you let me actually put my hands on it, I do great. Kids are the same way.
